Without further ado, here are my summer books that I plan on reading. From top to bottom:
True Prep by Lisa Birnbach: I picked this book up forever ago, and I've decided that I'm finally going to sit down and read it. It seems like every prep has read this and I'm curious to find out what all the hype is about.
The Perfect Wagnerite by George Bernard Shaw: This is another book I picked up forever ago. I want to read this because I want to get to know and understand Wagner's operas better. It's all about learning people.
The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien: I read this when I was younger, and with the movie coming out soon (here's the trailer), I thought it was high time I read it again. For the movie, I hope Peter Jackson does this book well in film, just as he did the whole LOTR trilogy.
Sarah's Key by Tatiana de Rosnay: I've heard this book is really sad, but amazing, so I'm starting first thing after I finish How We Decide. It's also been on Boyfriend's Netflix queue forever so I want to read it before we watch it.
Something Borrowed by Emily Giffin: This is going to be my girly indulgence for the summer, and if I end up liking it, I'll read the rest of her books. I've heard good things about them.
The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett: I've wanted to read this book for a long time, but for some reason, I've pushed it back countless times. I don't think I've ever heard anything bad about this book or the author.
What are you planning on reading this summer? Any other suggestions for me?
And, I'm being featured today at Being Greek, so check it out!
