Remember Me? and Carry the One

Because of grad school applications, my first senior capstone, work, and just general school work, I haven't been able to read as much as I'd like to. This year I've also read a lot of contemporary novels, and I actually feel pretty guilty about not reading too many classics. I guess I'll just have to save those for 2013. I mean, it's the perfect time to start setting my reading goals for next year. I can potentially be on a lot of plane rides for grad school, so I'm looking forward to more reading time.

Remember Me? by Sophie Kinsella
I had never read a Kinsella book, and I know a lot of IRL friends and bloggers that love her. I couldn't say the same since I thought it was one of the silliest books I've read in a long time. The characters didn't have depth to me, and I couldn't connect with them. I got through it simply because I was listening to it on a road trip. If you like easy to read fluff books, about women, you'll probably love this. It's about a woman who wakes up with amnesia and has to discern her new life.
Carry the One by Carol Anshaw
I won this book in a Goodreads giveaway and I was so excited about it. It's the story of a group of friends and relatives who are all tied together by a single event when they're younger. My issue with the book was that the characters didn't really develop in my eyes. I had trouble relating to them in the beginning, and that only got worse as the book progressed.
