Now that it's finally winter break, I have a ton of time to read. I read both of these books between Thanksgiving and present and my reading has only picked up since. I'm just so glad to finally get back on a semi-regular reading schedule, and hopefully I'll be able to keep it up next semester.

The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova
I listened to this book as an audio book going to and from home for Thanksgiving. It wasn't anything I expected and I ended up really enjoying it. The book definitely had moments that weren't believeable and the story in general was a little far fetched, but it made for an interesting plot and it was easy to listen to. The plot centers on a couple both connected to a man who was kidnapped by Dracula, or so it seems. If you're in the mood for something a little different, it's a good read.
Homecoming by Bernhard Schlink
I had this on my reading list ever since I read The Reader by the same author. It was one of the best books I've ever read and I had high expectations for Homecoming. I was excited to start reading it even though the story wasn't exactly what I would normally read. It deals with homecoming stories of German veterans after the war and compares them to the narrator's story and Homer's The Odyssey.
What have you been reading lately? Any reading plans for 2013?
