Something Borrowed by Emily Giffin
I normally don't like "girly" books, but I found this one bearable. The protagonist was stronger than I initially thought she'd be. I think this would make for a great beach read since it was generally pretty light and read fast. This reminded me a lot of One Day and I think if you liked that book/movie, you'd like this. I still haven't seen either the One Day or Something Borrowed movies.
Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen
I still don't know what to think of this. I liked how it ended, but it was definitely not something that I'd normally read. The story kept jumping between present day and the past so it was hard to follow at times. I still haven't seen the movie, and I definitely want to see it now because generally when I don't like a book, I like the movie more i.e., The Help.
